Our Philosophy & Ayurveda
Thousands of years before western science provided evidence for a body and mind connection, the sages of India developed Ayurveda, which continues to be one of the world´s most sophisticated healing methods.
Based on the delicate balance between the mind, body, and spirit; its main goal is to promote good health. Ayurveda is a lifestyle choice although treatments may be geared towards specific conditions.
Recognising that human beings are part of nature, Ayurveda describes three fundamental energies that govern our inner and outer environments: movement, transformation, and structure. Known in Sanskrit as Vata (Wind), Pitta (Fire), and Kapha (Earth), these primary forces are responsible for the characteristics of our mind and body.
At Shambala, we seek to help you balance body, mind and spirit. To achieve this, we combine Yoga, Meditation, Diet and Ayurvedic treatments.

Understanding Ayuveda at Shambala
Ayurveda is derived from two Sanskrit words – “Ayu” meaning life and “Veda”, knowledge or wisdom. Ayurveda, translated means “knowledge of life”. In our ancient understanding of “Ayu”, life is comprised of four parts – mind, body, senses and the soul.
